Pterocarpus indicus Willd.
Tree, 15-30 m tall, of the wet dense forests of plain and low altitude, below 600 m. Species widely spread in India, in the Indochinese and Malay Peninsula down to New Hebrides and Salomon Islands. Often cultivated in tropical Africa and America. Much valued wood, used in construction. The resin of the bark. "kino", is used to dye in red the fabrics. It is used in European and Asian medicine as antifeverish, diuretic, antidysenteric or in stomatology.

ព្រឹក្សពួកក្រញូង កំពស់ ១៥-៣០ម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃត្រជាក់ លើដីទំនាប ឬលើភ្នំទាបជាង ៦០០ម នៃប្រទេសជាច្រើន ចាប់ពីឥណ្ឌា ឧបទ្វីបឥណ្ឌូចិន រហូតដល់កោះ Salomon ។ គេច្រើនដាំទៅដាំក្នុងទ្វីបអាមេរិក និងអាហ្វ្រិក ។ ឈើមាន តម្លៃណាស់សំរាប់សង់ផ្ទះ ។ ជ័រនៃសំបកគេប្រើសំរាប់ជ្រលក់សំពត់ឱ្យពណ៌ក្រហម ។ តាមក្បួនឱសថ អឺរ៉ុប និងអាស៊ី សំបកជាថ្នាំគ្រុន ធ្វើឱ្យនោមច្រើន រំងាប់រោគរាគមួល និងរោគមាត់ ។
ភាសាបារាំង
Arbre, haut de 15-30 m, des forêts denses humides de plaine et de basse altitude, jusqu’à 600 m. Espèce largement répandue en Inde, dans la péninsule indochinoise, malaise jusqu’aux Nouvelles Hébrides et les lles Salomon. Souvent cultivé en Afrique et Amérique tropicales. Bois très estimé, utilisé en construction. La résine de l’écorce, le « kino » s’emploie pour teindre en rouge les tissus. On l’emploie en pharmacopée d’Europe et d’Asie comme médicament antifébrile, diurétique, antidysentérique ou en stomatologie.
