Piper lolot C. DC.
50-80 cm tall herb cultivated as condiment in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. The leaves of lolot, as those of the betel, are sold in the Asian grocer’s shops of Europe and even America. They bear such a resemblance that they are easily mistaken one for the other. In traditional medicine, the root of lolot is well known as antidysenteric. It is one of the components of a remedy against cough.

ឈ្មោះតិណជាតិមួយប្រភេទកំពស់ ៥០-៨០ស.ម ដាំក្នុងប្រទេសខ្មែរ លាវ និងវៀតណាម ជាគ្រឿងទេស ។ ស្លឹកសណ្ឋានស្រដៀងនឹងម្លូ ហេតុនេះ ពួកបរទេស ឬខ្មែរកើតក្រៅស្រុកតែងច្រឡំម្លូ និងចាព្លូ ។ ស្លឹកម្លូ និងស្លឹកចាព្លូ មានលក់ក្នុងហាងចិន ទ្វីបអឺរ៉ុប ឬទ្វីបអាមេរិកផង តាមក្បួនឱសថបុរាណ ឬសចាព្លូ ជាថ្នា ំរម្ងាប់រោគមួល ។ គេប្រើឬសផ្សំធ្វើថ្នាំក្អក ។
ភាសាបារាំង
Herbe haut de 50-80 cm cultivée comme condimentaire au Cambodge, au Laos et au Viêt-nam. Les feuilles de lolot, comme celles du bétel, se trouvent en vente dans les épiceries Asiatiques d’Europe et même d’Amérique. Elles présentent une telle ressemblance que beaucoup de personnes prennent le lolot pour du bétel ou vice-versa. En pharmacopée, la racine du lolot est réputée antidysentérique. Elle entre aussi dans la composition d’un remède contre la toux.
