Excoecaria agallocha L.
Small tree, 6-10 m tall, of the coastal forests of tropical Asia. Very bitter, hard and heavy wood, brown- reddish, spreading a pleasant smell when burned. The trunk, when cut, lets pour a latex irritating for the skin and the eyes; but the latex is localized only in the bark. So the lumberjacks husk the trunk before bringing it down. The husked wood is used in construction. The leaves, also toxic, can be used to stun fishes. The roots, less poisonous, are used in traditional medicine to treat swelling of hands and feet.
ឈើជ័រ
ឈ្មោះព្រឹក្សតូចមួយ កំពស់ ៦-១០ម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃមាត់សមុទ្រ នៃអាស៊ីក្ដៅ ។ ឈើមានភាពរឹង ធ្ងន់ ពណ៌ក្រហមភាវមានជាតិល្វីង បើដុតអាចឱ្យក្លិនក្រអូប ។ ពេលគេកាត់ដើម និងកាំបិត គេឃើញជ័រចេញជាច្រើន ធ្វើឱ្យក្រហាយបើប៉ះ ស្បែក ឬភ្នែក ។ តែជ័រនេះមានក្នុងសំបកប៉ុណ្ណោះ ហេតុនេះគេបកសំបកចោល មុននឹងកាប់ដើមសម្រាប់សង់ផ្ទះ ។ ស្លឹកពុល តិចៗ អាចប្រើធ្វើឱ្យត្រីសន្លប់មុននេសាទ ។ ឬសមិនសូវពុល ។ គ្រាប់ធ្វើថ្នាំព្យាបាលជំងឺហើមជើង ដៃ ។
ភាសាបារាំង
Petit arbre, haut de 6-10 m, des forêts littorales de l’Asie tropicale. Bois dur, lourd, brun-rougeâtre, très amer, répandant, en brûlant un parfum agréable. Le tronc, par incision, laisse exSuder un latex irritant pour la peau et les yeux ; mais le latex est localisé uniquement dans l’écorce. Aussi les bûcherons décortiquent-ils le tronc avant de l’abattre. Le bois décortiqué est employé en construction. Les feuilles, également toxiques, peuvent être utilisées pour la pêche stupéfiante. Les racines, moins vénéneuses, s’utilisent en pharmacopée pour soigner les enflures des mains et des pieds.
