LUMNITZERA (Combretaceae)
Lumnitzera littorea (Jack) Voigt
Tree, 10-30 m tall, of the mangrove formations, adapted to muddy-sandy soils, at about 5 m over the high waters, common from the coasts of the Pacific, to those of Eastern Africa. Red flowers, accounting for its khmer name.
Wood used for the construction of the bridges and enbankments because it supports dumping well. In traditional medicine, the leaves would be effective in the treatment of sprue (chronic disease of the bowel showing itself in a greasy diarrhoea). The decoction of the root is well known as febrifuge in case of eruptive fever.
ក្រញឹបក្រហម, ស្តំ
ឈ្មោះព្រឹក្សកំពស់ ១០-៣០ម ដុះនៅក្នុងព្រៃកោងកាង លើដីភក់លាយខ្សាច់ មានកំពស់លើសទឹកជំនោរធំបំផុត ប្រហែល ៥ម ។ ដើមនេះមានតាមសមុទ្រប៉ាស៊ីហ្វិក រហូតដល់ប្រទេសអាហ្វ្រិចខាងកើត ។ ផ្កាពណ៌ក្រហម ។ ឈើគេច្រើន ប្រើសំរាប់សង់ផែកប៉ាល់ ។ ពីព្រោះឈើជាប់ល្អពេលត្រូវទឹក ។ តាមក្បួនឱសថបុរាណ ស្លឹកក្រញឹបក្រហម សំរាប់ព្យាបាល ជំងឺរាគរាំរ៉ៃ ។ គេស្ងោរឬសផឹករម្ងាប់រោគគ្រុន ធម្មតា និងគ្រុន មានចេញពិសលើស្បែក ។
ភាសាបារាំង
Arbre, haut de 10-30 m, des formations de la mangrove, adapté à la vie dans les sols vaso-sableux, à environ 5 m au-dessus des marées hautes, commun depuis les côtes du Pacifique, jusqu’à celles de l’Afrique orientale. Fleurs rouges, d’où le nom khmer.
Bois employé pour la construction des ponts et appontements car il supporte bien l’immersion. En pharmacopée, les feuilles seraient efficaces dans le traitement de la sprue (maladie chronique de l’intestin se manifestant par une diarrhée graisseuse et une mal-absorption). La décoction de la racine
est réputée fébrifuge en cas de fièvre éruptive.
