Vernonia elliptica DC.
Shrub, 1-4 m tall, often climbing, of the dense and secondary formations of Southeast Asia. The wood, finely grated, dried in the sun, is smoked in cigarettes in mixture with tobacco to treat diseases of the nose (rhinitises with ulcerations of the mucous membranes). It is also part of an infusion against the bronchitis.

Arbuste, haut de 1-4 m, souvent sarmenteux, des formations denses et secondaires de l’Asie du Sud-Est. Le bois, finement râpé, séché au soleil, est fumé en cigarettes en mélange avec du tabac, pour les soins des affections du nez (rhinites avec ulcérations de la muqueuse). Il entre aussi dans la composition d’une tisane contre la bronchite.
