Trapa bicornis Osbeck, var. cochinchinensis (Lour.) Glück ex Steenis
Floating herb with very short stalk, of ponds, puddles and lakes of tropical Asia and Africa. Species very frequently cultivated for its two horned farinaceous edible fruits. The hard pericarpe of fruit, in infusion, is considered as tonic and febrifuge.

Herbe flottante à tige très courte, des étangs, mares et des lacs de l’Asie et de l’Afrique tropicales. Espèce très fréquemment cultivée pour ses fruits à 2 cornes, farineux comestibles. Le péricarpe dur du fruit, en infusion, est considéré comme tonique et fébrifuge.
