Shorea siamensis Miq.
Tree, 20-25 m tall, of the clear forests of plain and altitude, up to 1000 m, of the Indochinese Peninsula. Dark brown wood, graded 1st category, used well dried for construction, particularly of boats; it is used also to make handles of spear. The yellow resin of the trunk is harvested for the caulking of boats or for the preparation of torches.

ព្រឹក្សមួយប្រភេទ កំពស់ ២០-២៥ម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃស្រោង លើដីទំនាប ឬភ្នំដែលខ្ពស់ មិនលើសពី ១០០០ម នៃឧបទ្វីបឥណ្ឌូចិន ។ ឈើពណ៌ដាំដែងក្រមៅ ជាឈើលេខ១ គេប្រើក្នុងភាពស្ងួត សំរាប់សង់ផ្ទះ និងជាពិសេស សង់នាវា, គេអាចប្រើឈើនេះ ធ្វើជាដងលំពែង ។ ជ័រមានពណ៌លឿង គេត្រងទុកសំរាប់បិទនៀវទូក កប៉ាល់ និងធ្វើចន្លុះ ។

Arbre, haut de 20-25 m, des forêts claires de plaine et d’altitude jusqu’à 1000 m de la péninsule indochinoise. Bois brun foncé, classé 1ère catégorie, employé à l’état bien sec pour les constructions en particulier des embarcations ; on l’emploie aussi pour faire des manches de javelot. La résine jaune du tronc est récoltée pour le calfatage de bateaux ou pour la confection des torches.
