Shorea roxburghiana G. Don
Tree, 10-25 m tall, of the open formations on sandy soils of the Indochinese and Malay Peninsula and the Eastern coasts of India. Pale brownish rather heavy wood, used for construction of boats. The fragments of bark put into the juice of palm tree delay its fermentation. Bark may replace areca nut for betel quid. In traditional medicine, the bark, in association with that of kâkâh (Sindora siamensis), is
used in decoction to treat dysentery.

ឈ្មោះព្រឹក្សមួយប្រភេទ កំពស់ ១០-២៥ម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃស្រោង ឬល្បោះលើដីខ្សាច់ នៃឧបទ្វីបឥណ្ឌូចិន ជ្វា និងឆ្នេរ សមុទ្រខាងកើតប្រទេសឥណ្ឌា ។ ឈើពណ៌ដាំដែងស្រអាប់ ធ្ងន់មធ្យម គេប្រើសំរាប់សង់នាវា ។ សំបកគេប្រើដាក់ក្នុងទឹក ត្នោត មិនឱ្យជូរ ឬប្រើស៊ីជាមួយម្លូជំនួសស្លាក៏បាន ។ គ្រូថ្នាំបុរាណស្ងោរសំបកពពេលលាយសំបកកកោះ រំងាប់រោគមួល ។

Arbre, haut de 10-25 m, des formations ouvertes sur sols sableux de la péninsule indochinoise, malaise et des côtes orientales de l’Inde. Bois brun pâle, assez lourd, utilisé pour les constructions des embarcations. Les fragments d’écorce mis dans le jus de palmier servent à en retarder la fermentation. Ecorce pouvant remplacer la noix d’arec pour la chique du bétel. En pharmacopée, en association avec celle de kâkâh (Sindora siamensis), l’écorce s’emploie sous forme de décoction pour combattre la dysenterie.
