Pithecellobium dulce (Roxb.) Benth.
Small tree, 6-10 m tall, originating from Central America, naturalized in all the tropical regions of the world. Species planted especially around houses to make quickset hedges. The arillus which wraps the seed is edible, eaten generally by the children. Wood of old trees may be used in construction. The colouring bark is used in traditional medicine. The old leaves contain a principle similar to the insulin.

ឈោ្មះឈើតូចមួយប្រភេទកំពស់៦-១០ម កំណើតក្នុងទ្វីបអាមេរិកកណ្ដាល គេនាំមកដាំនៅប្រទេសក្ដៅសកល លោក ។ គេច្រើនដាំធ្វើជារបងរស់ ។ សាច់ផ្លែរស់ចត់ល្មមបរិភោគ ។ ឈើដើមចាស់ៗ អាចប្រើធ្វើជាគ្រឿងផ្ទះបាន ។ សំបកអាចធ្វើថ្នាំ រម្ងាប់រោគ ។ ស្លឹកចាស់ៗ មានសារជាតិមួយដូច " Insuline " (ថ្នាំទឹកនោមផ្អែម) ។

Petit arbre, haut de 6-10 m, originaire de l’Amérique centrale, naturalisée dans toutes les régions tropicales du monde. Espèce plantée surtout autour des habitations pour faire des haies vives. L’arille qui entoure la graine est comestible, consommée généralement par les enfants. Bois de l’arbre âgé pouvant être utilisé en construction. L’écorce, tannifère, est employée en pharmacopée. Les vieilles feuilles contiennent un principe semblable à l’insuline.
