Phoenix humilis Royle
Dwarfish palm tree, provided with several 10-20 cm tall trunks, of grassy savannas of Indochinese Peninsula and Southern China. The bud constitutes an excellent palm-cabbage***, much in demand. The fruit, with the flavour of date, is edible.

Palmier nain, muni de plusieurs troncs hauts de 10-20 cm, des savanes herbeuses de la péninsule indochinoise et de la Chine du Sud. Le bourgeon constitue un excellent chou-palmiste très recherché. Le fruit, à saveur de datte, est comestible.
