PANDANUS (Pandanaceae)
Pandanus humilis Lour.
Shrub, 2-3 m tall, of the secondary formations, undergrowth and low hills, on rocky soil, in Indochina. Plant often cultivated to make quickset hedges. The flowers, nice-smelling, are used for scenting the linen. The leaves are often used to weave mats. In traditional medicine, the roots are used against the venereal diseases.

Arbuste, haut de 2-3 m, des formations secondaires, des fourrés et des collines basses, sur sol rocheux, de l’Indochine. Plante souvent cultivée pour faire des haies vives. Les fleurs, odorantes, servent à parfumer le linge. Les feuilles sont souvent utilisées pour tisser des nattes. En pharmacopée, les racines s’emploient contre les maladies vénériennes.
