PALAQUIUM (Sapotaceae)
Palaquium obovatum (Griff.) Engl.
Tree, 12-40 m tall, reaching 1-1.50 m in diameter, of the dense and secondary formations of the Malay and Indochinese peninsula, and the Sunda islands. The bark contains a latex which, after coagulation, produces a kind of gutta - percha (plastic and insulating substance). The rose grey wood, hard, is in demand for the constructions.

ឈ្មោះព្រឹក្សម ួយប្រភេទ កំពស់ ១២-៤០ម មានវិជ្ឈមាត្រពី ១ ទៅ ១,៥០ម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃធំ ឬព្រៃល្បោះ នៃឧបទ្វីបជា្វ ឥណ្ឌូចិន និងលើកោះ មួយចំនួន នៅប្រទេសឥណ្ឌូណេស៊ី (Iles de la sonde) ។ សំបកមានជ័រម្យ៉ាង អាចកក ហើយ ក្លាយជាសារជាតិសម្រាប់ប៉ាន់រូប និងមិនចម្លងកំដៅ ។ ឈើរឹងមានពណ៌ផ្កាឈូកភ្លាវ ឬក្រមៅ ជាឈើល្អសម្រាប់សង់ផ្ទះ ។

Arbre, haut de 12-40 m, de diamètre atteignant 1-1,50 m, des formations denses et secondaires de la péninsule malaise, indochinoise et des îles de la Sonde. L’écorce contient un latex qui, après coagulation produit une sorte de gutta-percha (substance plastique et isolante). Le bois, gris rosé, dur, est recherché pour les constructions.
