OROXYLUM (Bignoniaceae)
Oroxylum indicum (L.) Kurz.
Shrub or small tree, 5-13 m tall, of the secondary formations or of edges of dense forests, in plain and up to 900 m. Species widely spread in tropical Asia. Young leaves, flowers and fruits edible when cooked. Barks and roots used to dye the materials in yellow. In traditional medicine, they are used to treat diarrhea and dysentery.

ឈ្មោះចុល្លព្រឹ ក្ស ឬព្រឹក្សតូចមួយប្រភេទ កំពស់ ៥-១៣ម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃស្រោង ឬតាមមាត់ព្រៃធំ លើដីទំនាប ឬលើភ្នំ ដែលមានកម្ពស់រហូតដល់ ៩០០ម ។ ដើមនេះ មានដុះក្នុងទ្វីបអាស៊ីក្ដៅ ។ ស្លឹកខ្ចីៗផ្កា និងផ្លែបរិភោគបានពេលចំអិនហើយ ។ សំបក និងឬស គេប្រើសម្រាប់ជ្រលក់សំពត់ឱ្យមានពណ៌លឿង ។ ក្នុងក្បួនឱសថបុរាណ គេអាចប្រើធ្វើជាថ្នាំរម្ងាប់រោគរាគមួល ។

Arbuste ou petit arbre, haut de 5-13 m des formations secondaires ou de lisière de forêts denses de plaine, d’altitude jusqu’à 900 m. Espèce largement répandue en Asie tropicale. Jeunes feuilles, fleurs et fruits comestibles à l’état cuit. Ecorces et racines employées pour teindre les étoffes en jaune. En pharmacop ée, on les utilise pour combattre la diarrhée et la dysenterie.
