OLDENLANDIA (Rubiaceae)
Oldenlandia umbellata L.
Hairy, crawling, 30-50 cm long herb, of the undergrowth of the dense forests of India and Indochinese Peninsula, cultivated in some Indian regions for its root which bark contains a red colouring used to dye the materials. The plant would be extensively traded on the oriental coast of India. The leaves, dried out, pulverized and mixed with flour make a medicine against asthma.

ឈ្មោះស្មៅវារលើដីម្យ៉ាង ប្រវែង ៣០-៥០ស.ម មានរោម ដុះក្រោមឈើធំៗ ក្នុងព្រៃក្រាស់ប្រទេសឥណ្ឌា និង ឧបទ្វីបឥណ្ឌូចិន ខេត្តខ្លះនៅឥណ្ឌា គេដាំជាច្រើន ដើម្បីយកឬសទុកជ្រលក់សំពត់ ឱ្យមានពណ៌ក្រហម ឬលឿងភ្លាវ។ ដើមនេះ ជាជំនួញយ៉ាងធំមួយក្នុងខេត្តខ្លះដែលនៅឆ្នេរខាងកើត នៃប្រទេសឥណ្ឌា ។ តាមក្បួនឱសថបុរាណ ស្លឹកស្ងួត កិនឱ្យល្អិត លាយជាមួយម្សៅអង្ករ ជាថ្នាំសម្រាប់ព្យាបាលរោគហឺត ។

Herbe rampante, longue de 30-50 cm, velue, du sous-bois des forêts denses de l’Inde et de la péninsule indochinoise, cultivée dans certaines régions indiennes pour sa racine dont l’écorce renferme une matière colorante rouge orangé, utilisée pour teindre les étoffes. La plante ferait l’objet d’un commerce important sur la côte orientale de l’Inde. Les feuilles desséchées, pulvérisées et mélangées avec de la farine constituent un médicament contre l’asthme.
