Nephelium lappaceum L.
Tree, 8-15 m tall, of the dense forests of the Malaysia, cultivated in the Indochinese Peninsula and in Indonesia. The ripe fruits are sold on markets. White fleshy arillus, sticking to seed, with a slightly acid flavour, is edible. In traditional medicine, the green fruits are used against different diseases: fever, diarrhoea. The bark would be used in Malaysia against the diseases of the tongue.

Arbre, haut de 8-15 m, des forêts denses de la Malaisie, cultivé dans la péninsule indochinoise, et en Indonésie. Les fruits mûrs sont vendus sur les marchés. L’arillé blanc, charnu, adhérent à la graine, de saveur acidulée, est comestible. En pharmacopée, les fruits verts sont employés contre diverses maladies : fièvre, diarrhée. L’écorce serait utilisée en Malaisie, contre les affections de la langue.
