Mitrella mesnyi (Pierre) Bân
Shrub, 5-8 m tall, of the semi-dense and secondary formations of plain in Cambodia, Laos and Southern Vietnam. In the cultivated state, this species becomes slightly climbing and thus remains rather small : the flowers become also smaller; it is then called "krâvan". Edible fruits. The yellowish flowers, very nice-smelling, mixed in the oil of "sâmrâng" (Sterculia lychnophora) and in wax are used for scenting the lip pastes that Cambodian women use against the cracks.

Arbuste, haut de 5-8 m. des formations semi-denses et secondaires de plaine du Cambodge, du Laos et du Viêt-nam du Sud. A l’état cultivé, cette espèce devient plus ou moins sarmenteuse et reste donc d’assez petite taille ; les fleurs deviennent aussi plus petites ; elle porte alors le nom de « krâvan’ ». Fruits comestibles. Les fleurs jaunâtres, très odorantes, mélangées à l’huile de « sâmrâng » (Sterculia lychnophora) et à la cire d’abeilles. servent à parfumer les pâtes à lèvres que les femmes cambodgiennes utilisent contre les gerçures.
