GLORIOSA (Liliaceae)
Gloriosa superba L.
Herbaceous liana, with stalk 3-6 m long, of the sunny grounds of tropical Asia and Africa. Plant often cultivated for its large and beautiful red and yellow flowers. The bulb contains a toxic alkaloid. In weak dose, it would be tonic. It is often used in a criminal purpose (abortion). One can use it to destroy louses.

ឈ្មោះវល្លិទន់មួយប្រភេទ ប្រវែង៣-៦ម ដុះលើដីវាលមានថ្ងៃ នៅប្រទេសអាស៊ី និងអាហ្វ្រិកផ្នែកក្ដៅ ។ គេនិយមដាំ ស្លែងដងដឹង ជាលំអដោយមានផ្កាធំៗ ពណ៌ក្រហមលាយលឿង ។ មើមមានជាតិពុល ។ តែគេអាចចម្រាញ់ជាតិមើមយ៉ាងតិចបំផុតមកធ្វើថ្នាំលើកកម្លាំង ។ ពួកអាក្រក់ខ្លះ យកមើមទុកបំពុលគេ ឬ ឱ្យរលូតកូន ។ តាមធម្មតា មើមស្លែងដងដឹង គេប្រើសម្រាប់សម្លាប់ចៃ ។

Liane herbacée, à tige longue de 3-6 m, des terrains ensoleillés de l’Asie et de l’Afrique tropicales. Plante souvent cultivée pour ses grandes et belles fleurs rouges et jaunes. Le bulbe renferme un alcaloïde toxique. A faible dose, il serait tonique. Il est employé souvent dans un but criminel (avortement). On peut l’utiliser pour détruire les poux.
