Garcinia mangostana L.
Tree, 10-20 m tall, originating from Sunda and Moluccas Islands, introduced in Asia as fruit tree everywhere. The arillus, white part surrounding the seeds, is delicious, sweet and aromatic, with a delicious flavour. The fruit’s pericarpus gives a black dye. It is used, in traditional Cambodian medicine, under the form of decoction, against diarrhoea and the dysentery.

ឈ្មោះព្រឹក្សមួយ កំពស់ ១០-២០ម មានដើមកំណើតនៅកោះខ្លះក្នុងប្រទេសឥណ្ឌូណេស៊ី គេនាំមកដាំជាដើមឱ្យផ្លែ ។ សាច់មង្ឃុតពណ៌ស (ដុះចេញពីគ្រាប់) មានរសជាតិផ្អែម ហើយក្រអូបឆ្ងាញ់ណាស់ ។ សំបកក្រៅនៃផ្លែសម្រាប់ជ្រលក់សំពត់ ឱ្យមានពណ៌ខ្មៅ ។ គ្រូខ្មែរប្រើសំបកនៃផ្លែស្ងោរឱ្យផឹកព្យាបាល ជម្ងឺរាគមួល ។

Arbre, haut de 10-20 m, originaire des îles de la Sonde et des Moluques, introduit partout en Asie comme arbre fruitier. L’arillé, partie blanche entourant les graines, est succulent, sucré et aromatique, d’une saveur délicieuse. Le péricarpe du fruit donne une teinture en noir. Il est utilisé, en pharmacopée cambodgienne, sous forme de décoction, contre la diarrhée et la dysenterie.
