Ficus benjamina L.
Tree, probably from India, cultivated in the villages or indoor as decorative. The numerous adventitious roots hanging along the branches when the tree is old are used for treating the wounds by poisoned arrows. The barks would be febrifuge and used also to protect the foeti. The white latex, mixed with rice alcohol, is prescribed to depressed persons following knocks or falls.
