Ceriops tagal (Perr.) C. B. Rob
Tree reaching a height of 10 m and 20 cms in diameter, with a trunk having little developed stilt-roots. A common tropical species of the mangroves. Contrary to the previous species, it often forms pure bushy stockings. Bark contains very much tannin which gives a beautiful red paint. Very durable wood which can produce a coal of excellent quality; its small dimensions allow only to use it to make foundation’s or fence’s pickets or as firewood.

ស្មែធំជាព្រឹក្សកំពស់ ២ទៅ១០ម មានឬសដុះលើគោករាងជើងទោម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃកោងកាងគ្រប់ប្រទេសក្ដៅសកលលោក អាចដុះផ្ដុំៗគ្នាជាច្រើន ។ សំបកគេប្រើជាថ្នាំជ្រលក់សំពត់អោយពណ៌ក្រហម ។ ឈើជាប់ល្អណាស់ គេច្រើនប្រើធ្វើធ្យូង ឬធ្វើជាបង្គោលរបង បង្គោលសម្រាប់ចាក់ឬសផ្ទះ ឬជាអុសដុត ។

Arbre atteignant 10 m de haut et 20 cm de diamètre, à tronc pourvu de racines-échasses peu développées. Espèce tropicale commune des mangroves. Contrairement à l’espèce précédente, elle forme souvent des peuplements purs, buissonnants. Ecorce très riche en tanin qui donne une belle teinture rouge. Bois très durable pouvant produire un charbon d’excellente qualité ; ses faibles dimensions ne permettent de l’utiliser que comme pieux de fondation ou de palissade ou comme bois de chauffe.
