Castanopsis pierrei Hance
Shrub, or small tree, 5-10 m tall, of open formations in low regions, under 200 m, met in Southeast Asia. In Cambodia, it is especially plentiful in Siemreap and Preah Vihear provinces. It is met sometimes along the roads around Phnom Penh. The farinaceous fruits cooked under the ash are rather good to eat. Species supplying a good firewood.

ចុល្លព្រឹក្ស ឬព្រឹក្ស កំពស់ ៥-១០ម ដុះក្នុងព្រៃល្បោះលើដីទំនាបមាន ឧព្វេធមិនលើសពី ២០០ម ។ ជាពូជមួយដុះក្នុងអាស៊ីផ្នែកអាគ្នេយ៍ ។ នៅស្រុកកម្ពុជា ខោសបាយគ្រៀមច្រើនដុះក្នុងខេត្តសៀមរាប និងព្រះវិហារ ។ គេអាចប្រទះដើមនេះមួយៗ នៅខេត្តជុំវិញភ្នំពេញ ។ មែក ធាង ឈើ ធ្វើអុសដុត ។

Arbuste, ou petit arbre, haut de 5-10 m, des formations ouvertes de basses régions, jusqu’à 200 m d’altitude, rencontré dans le Sud-Est Asiatique. Au Cambodge, il est surtout abondant dans les provinces de Siemreap et Preah Vihear. On le rencontre parfois le long des routes autour de Phnom-Penh. Les fruits farineux cuits sous la cendre sont assez bons à manger. Espèce fournissant un bon bois de feu.
