Carallia brachiata (Lour.) Merr.

A bush or tall tree, 7 to 30 m, with sometimes aerial roots, up to 1 or 1.5 m from the trunks bottom. Species of tropical Asia met in various locations: dense forest of plains and hills, muddy or sandy soils of clearings, clear or salty water ripicole*** formation. Fruits are edible. The wood, graded 3rd category, is used in decoration. The species may be fit for reforestation of poor soils. bark is used against scabies.
