BRIDELIA (Euphorbiaceae)
Bridelia retusa Spreng.
A tree, 8 to 15 m tall, of open formations; on rocky and nearly flooded lands everywhere in Southeast Asia. The wood, resistant to insects and climatic hazards, is much sought for building pillars. The bark gives a latex, the “kino”, a fishing poison.

ជាដើមឈើធំ កំពស់៨-១៥ម ដុះព្រៃល្បោះលើដីមានថ្មច្រើន ន ិងលើដីជាយទឹក នៃប្រទេសអាស៊ីផ្នែកអាគ្នេយ៍ ។ ឈើឈ្លីកពក គេនិយមប្រើណាស់ ពីព្រោះឈើនេះ មិនងាយពុក និងរឹង សត្វស៊ីមិនបាន គេយកធ្វើសសរផ្ទះ ។ សំបកវាអោយជ័រម្យ៉ាង សម្រាប់ធ្វើត្រីអោយសន្លប់ ។

Arbre haut de 8-15 m des formations ouvertes, en terrain rocheux, à la limite de l’inondation, commun en Asie du Sud-Est. Le bois est très recherché pour les colonnes de maisons car il est résistant aux attaques des insectes et aux intempéries. L’écorce donne un latex, le « kino », qu’on emploie pour stupéfier les poissons.
