BLUMEA (Compositae)
Blumea balsamifera DC.
Branchy shrub, 1-2m tall, found in clearings of forest of average altitude in tropical Asia. The crushed leaves smell camphor. In Cambodia, they commonly used in fumigation against dizziness and headache. The fresh leaves are often put into the ears for they are reputed to have insect-repelling properties. The leaves are also said to have other therapeutic properties against fever, mange, acne.

Arbuste sarmenteux, haut de 1-2 m, rencontré dans les clairières de forêts de moyenne altitude de l’Asie tropicale. Les feuilles froissées dégagent une odeur de camphre. Au Cambodge, elles s’emploient couramment en fumigations contre vertige et migraine. Souvent les feuilles fraîches sont placées dans les oreilles pour écarter les punaises. On attribue aux feuilles d’autres propriétés thérapeutiques : contre la fièvre, la gale, l’acné...
