BIXA (Bixaceae)
Bixa orellana L.
Shrub, 2-8m tall, native to tropical America, introduced to Cambodia cultivated near dwelling as decorative plant. The seeds yield a red colouring used as stain. In traditional medicine, the leaves have the reputation, in external use as lotions or baths, to beeing effective against paludism, eruptive fever, and other forms of fever.

ដើមនេះជាចុល្លព្រឹក្សមានកំពស់ ២- ៨ម គេនាំពីស្រុកអាមេរិកក្ដៅ យកមកដាំជុំវិញគេហដ្ឋានឱ្យល្អមើល ។ គ្រាប់ជម្ពូ ជ្រលក់មានជាតិជ្រលក់ពណ៌ក្រហម លាយពណ៌លឿងភាវ សម្រាប់ជ្រលក់សំពត់អាវ ឬរបស់ផ្សេងៗ ។ ស្លឹកគេយកដាំទឹកងូត ឬត្រាំពេលកើតជម្ងឺគ្រុនចាញ់ គ្រុនមានពិសស្បែក ឬគ្រុនក្ដៅផ្សេងៗ ។

Arbuste haut de 2-8 m, originaire de l’Amérique tropicale, introduit et cultivé au Cambodge autour des habitations. Les graines donnent un colorant rouge orangé utilisé comme teinture, Feuilles employées en pharmacopée locale : en bains ou lotions contre le paludisme, les fièvres éruptives et les pyrexies diverses.
