BASELLA (Basellaceae)
Basella alba L.
Climber herb probably native to India, cultivated all over the tropics for its fruits and stems used in cooking like spinach. The seeds yield a juice used to color cake or as eye-salve. The tea from the leaves or from the whole plant is drunk as child laxative and for making easy the delivery (childbirth).

ជន្លង់ជាវល្លិវារឡើងទ្រើង មានដើមកំណើតប្រហែលក្នុងស្រុកឥណ្ឌា គេដាំគ្រប់ប្រទេសក្ដៅ ដើម្បីបរិភោគក្នុងស្ងោរ ឬឆា ។ល។ គ្រាប់ឱ្យទឹកដមម្យ៉ាងពណ៌ក្រហម សម្រាប់ដាក់នំឱ្យមានពណ៌ល្អ ។ គ្រូថ្នាំគេយកទឹកដមនេះផ្សំជាថ្នាំដាក់ភ្នែក ។ ក្នុងស្រុកខ្មែរយើង គេតែងស្ងោរដើមជន្លង់ឱ្យក្មេង ផឹកកុំឱ្យទល់លាមកឬមួយឱ្យស្ត្រីកំពុងសម្រាលកូន ដើម្បីឱ្យកូនចេញ ឆាប់ៗ ។

Herbe grimpante d’origine probablement indienne et cultivée sous les Tropiques pour ses feuilles et tiges alimentaires consommées comme les épinards. Le jas rouge, extrait des graines, sert à colorer certains gâteaux. On s’en sert également pour la fabrication des collyres. La plante entière ou seulement les feuilles servent au Cambodge à combattre la constipation des enfants et pour faciliter l’accouchement.
