Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth.

Tree, 8-15 m tall, found in dense deciduous lowland forest in the Tropic and subtropic Asia and Africa, often cultivated as shade-tree. The timber graded “de luxe” is in demand for cabinet-work. In local medicine, the flower emollient, are used as poultices to be applied on boils. Bark and seed astringent are used against diarrhoea, dysentery and hoemorrhoids. The seed yields and oil used as a cure for leprosy.
