Aegle marmelos (L.) Corrêa
The golden apple grows wild in dry forests in the Indian Peninsular (Coromandel) as well as in South part of Himalaya areas, cultivated elsewhere. In Cambodia, the plant serves as roadside shade tree. Ripe fruit is eaten fresh, the mucilage around unripe seeds is used as an adhesive in jewellery’s shop. The wood is suitable for making small articles such as handles... leaves and fruits used in local medicine.

ភ្នៅមានដើមកំណើតក្នុងស្រុកឥណ្ឌា និងនៅស្រុកជុំវិញភ្នំហិមាល័យា គេតែងដាំក្នុងស្រុកដទៃ ដូចស្រុកខ្មែរជាដើម។ គេចូលចិត្តដាំភៅ្នអោយមានម្លប់ផង និង យកផ្លែបរិភោគផង ផ្លែទុំ គេចូលចិត្តពិសារណាស់។ ផ្លែពុះជា ២ សំរាប់ធ្វើកំប៉ុងកាវ សាច់ភ្នៅអោយកាវជាប់ល្អមែនទែន ពេលគេហាលវាស្ងួត។ ជាងមាសអាចប្រើកាវនេះបាន ។ ឈើភ្នៅយកប្រើការបានខ្លះៗ គួរសម។ ស្លឹក និងផ្លែខ្ចី ឬចាស់ គេយកធ្វើថ្នាំរំងាប់រោគផ្សេងៗ។

Arbre croissant spontanément dans les forêts du Coromandel (Inde) ainsi que dans toute la partie méridionale de l’Himalaya, cultivé partout ailleurs. Au Cambodge, « phnëu » est à la fois un arbre d’ombrage et un arbre fruitier : ses fruits mûrs sont consommés frais; coupés au milieu, ils servent de pots à colle ; au séchage ils possèdent un pouvoir adhésif puissant, d’où leur emploi éventuel comme ciment par les joailliers. Bois utilisé pour la fabrication de menus objets. Feuilles et fruits pourvus de vertus médicinales variées.
